Cerebrolysin
Cerebrolysin (neuropeptide preparation)
Neuropeptide complex for brain function
About
One of the most-studied nootropics — a mixture of low-molecular-weight peptides and amino acids derived from porcine brain. Widely used in Europe and Asia for Alzheimer's, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.
Mechanism
Neurotrophic, neuroprotective, and neurogenerative effects — mimics BDNF and NGF, increases synaptic plasticity.
Dosage
When to take: Best in the morning — alerting effects.
Reconstitution
Vial size (mg): 10 mL ampoule (pre-mixed) · BAC water (mL): none — comes as a solution · Concentration: 215.2 mg/mL
Cerebrolysin comes as a ready solution in sealed ampoules — no reconstitution.
Benefits
- Improved memory and focus
- Faster recovery after stroke
- Slows Alzheimer progression
- Improved neuroplasticity
- Potentially longer neuronal lifespan
Side effects
- Mild warm sensation
- Rare: injection-site irritation
- Rare: allergic reaction
- Generally very well tolerated
Gender notes
